Enabling Xray Test Management

In case Xray is installed in your Jira instance, it can be enabled for individual projects as described in the following sub sections.

Only project admins can enable Xray for their respective projects.

Enable Xray

Navigate to the Jira project administration page.
In the Actions menu on the top right, click Enable Xray Requirements Coverage.
When the special Xray issue-types are already availabe in your Jira project, you are finished.

Add Xray Issue Types

! Warning

When you use an issue-type scheme which is shared with other projects, you should not run the next steps, since they will influence other projects, too. Instead, ask the person responsible for the global configuration of your Jira instance how to proceed.

If your project has it's own private issue-type scheme, you can add the missing Xray issue-types:

Navigate to the Jira project administration page.
In the Actions menu on the top right, click Add Xray Issue Types

In case the "Add Xray Issue Types" action is not available in the Actions menu, then at least one Xray issue type has already been added to either the project's issue type scheme or issue type screen scheme.

Now you can start using Xray.
